Drysdale River Loop: Eleven days walking in the wonderful Kimberley region of northern WA. We depart from Kununurra and fly by seaplane and helicopter to our starting point on the Drysdale River. The trail is undulating and rocky with some short (50m) canyon climbs and possibly some minor exposure. The weather will be warm – below 30 degrees – but with low humidity. We will spend most of our time in the creek systems with plenty of swimming opportunities. This is a full hike and participants should be both experienced multi-day hikers and confident swimmers. Seoraksan and Odaesan National Parks in Gangwon-do: A 2-week trip from mid to late October 2023 16 to 20 km per day with about 800 meters of elevation gain.
Background Leader lived in South Korea from 2018 to 2021 and was an active hiker with local and international trekking groups mainly in Bukhansan NP which was accessible by public transport and fell in love with the people, food, culture and last but not least not least, the mountains. ! This trip is designed to explore the other famous national parks that are more difficult to reach by public transport, Seoraksan and Odaesan in the northeast (and possibly Chiaksan NP), so many of the hikes will be new to the leader .
The other main focus of the trip is the food and culture, creating great memories with new friends and plenty of photo opportunities
T'way Air Tickets (new Korean Air Budget airline) – I have access to cheap air tickets for this trip for direct flights SYD - ICN - SYD. (Note that October is peak season, with the best weather in autumn, so the earlier we book flights, the lower the price.)
Transfer by private bus with choice of local driver (number allowed) and/or public train, metro and/or bus
Accommodation - We stay in budget accommodation up to 2/3 star, using a combination of budget hotels, one night stay at the temple, subject to availability.
Price to be confirmed but should be less than $3000 for 2 weeks land content - cost of airfare, accommodation and local transport will be confirmed once I have the numbers.

This is overseas travel so normal Bush Club insurances do not apply. Participants must take out their own travel insurance. All participants must be up to date on vaccinations (minimum 3 vaccinations) / no medical exemptions allowed.
